Future Shop
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/dept.asp?logon=%26langid=EN%26catid=9
Lots of items available in the car audio/video departments as well as scattered throughout the rest of the site (i.e. car alarms, GPS). Good search tools and excellent ability to manipulate data (i.e. compare items). Information on individual items is very good and the learning centre is well done.
Pros:
You can drill down to find products by department, category or featured brands. You can also use an advanced search that allows you to select a department, category, keyword, manufacturer and price range. Once you've obtained a list of items you can re-sort them or compare them to each other (it's not immediately obvious how to do this - click on the More Information link for one of the items and then on the Compare tab within the detail screen - this will bring up all the items in your search results in a list). Information on individual items contain customer reviews, features and specifications and recommended accessories. You can also check store stock for the item and - of course - progress on to buying it online. There is a good search function on the site as well as the Expert Advice link where you can find other helpful information.
Cons:
I really can't think of any negative aspects to this site.

Canadian Tire Online: Shopping in Canada
http://www.canadiantire.ca/
Although they don't have as many items in the 'Techno Toys' category as Future Shop does Canadian Tire does have some items to offer. There are good search options but the site doesn't offer you any options for data manipulation. There also aren't any 'extras' on this site that would allow you to learn more about an item you might be shopping for or get instructions and assistance on how to choose or install an accessory.
Pros:
There are lots of items online and there are a variety of search tools and drill down methods available. There is toll free customer service and you can easily find out if an item is in stock at your local store and/or order it online. There are user-written reviews available on many items.
Cons:
Information on individual items is not extensive and there are no tools to allow you to re-sort the items you have found or compare them to each other. Although this is a minor complaint in terms of inside and outside accessories it is a major deficiency in the 'Techno Toys' category as when you are laying out large sums of money for constantly changing and evolving technology you want to make sure you are making the right choice. The Canadian Tire site does not make this easy and I would suggest that you compare items you've found at Future Shop with the Canadian Tire site to see the best option in terms of pricing and availability.
